This quilt is really beautiful but I find the pieced backing particularly remarkable. I have always done single-print or solid backs, but the Recession Fairy has visited my household in a bad way, and so I really must not must not MUST NOT buy new fabric to back my latest quilt! So this is giving me ideas, lovely ideas. Thank you.

As always, thank you for sharing the steps of your projects. And you've made me suddenly remember a "quilt" my daughter made for me when she was about 13 (it's a patchwork blanket, with a solid back, but not actually quilted). I don't use it much anymore, and it's packed away--I think I'll get it out and use it again. The wonderful thing about it is that it's about 3 feet wide and about 8 feet long, and also that it's made from leftovers from a bunch of different project and old clothes. Thanks for bringing me that memory!

Oh! I love this! My grandpa wore different plaid (though, flannel) shirts like this almost every day. This makes me think of him! I wonder if my mom still has enough of his shirts to tackle a project like this ....
