man in a kilt

One last post before SF.

I don’t usually talk about the bumps in the road but not many of the dolls go from start to finish with no missteps along the way. And, the last few weeks there were more than usual- I am ready for some time away from the studio. I knew this fellow was going to have a kilt but this is the second one I made because I made an un-fixable error on the first one- The kind that is not worth trying to fix. I’ve learned to tell the difference because many times, trying to fix something takes more time than starting over. But, he made it through the process and I’m happy with how he turned out.

  1. I love him! He actually looks a bit like my father before his beard turned white. Although I don’t remember him ever wearing a kilt! :P

  2. I love your art work because you are always a careful observer. You translate the things you see so skillfully into your work. Whenever i see one of your dolls (this time a lumberjack) i feel this familiarity. As if they were real and i have met them somewhere, i could even remember their names. I love your obsession with details. I am an architect myself, most of the time i feel crazy to realize such details in the world, but here you are equally making an effort :) It is always nice to follow your art, so thank you for sharing it here.
