So, all these Tiny Worlds? I’ve been making them all for the Holiday window of Gather Here, my favorite local fabric/yarn store. We set it up this morning.
I will go back when it isn’t raining and there is no glare on the glass so I can post better shots of the finished window. Here are the last of the tiny worlds that I made for it.
And then I tried out some new ideas! A castle in a gold tea cup-
This one has the garden I’ve always wanted. It was a challenge to photograph all the topiary.
And lastly, I stayed up late last night to finish this one. That meant that with the rain this morning, there was no way to take a good picture. But, here it is in the window, a tiny town on a hill!
My first day of Artist-in-Residence at Gather Here was fantastic. We had loads of fun in the owl class.
Mid-afternoon was quiet and I organized supplies and went over the owl pattern on my own.
The evening brought the students- everyone worked really hard.
And look who was hatched by the end of the evening- A Parliament of Owls!
Tonight we’ll be making swaddled babies.
Have you seen what is going on over at Gather Here? They are doing a raffle to support the Red Cross’s effort to help victims of Hurricane Sandy- all the info to join in is here. I donated the doll model I made for the book We Make Dolls- He was on the cover!
There are lots of amazing prizes- check them out here. I have been obsessed with the news of the damage from the storm and I’m so happy to be able to find a way to help.
