{"id":391,"date":"2005-10-30T17:22:13","date_gmt":"2005-10-30T22:22:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/archives\/2005\/10\/mermaid\/"},"modified":"2005-10-30T17:22:13","modified_gmt":"2005-10-30T22:22:13","slug":"mermaid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/archives\/2005\/10\/mermaid\/","title":{"rendered":"mermaid"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The feet on <a href=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/archives\/2005\/10\/woolen-santa-claus\/\">Santa<\/a> made me think of a fish tail, which got me thinking mermaid thoughts&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I didn&#8217;t have any pinky tone wool, so I dyed some.  3 different woolen fabrics- a knit, a thin twill and a soft, loose woven fabric.  One of the things I like about dyeing is the different shades of color I get.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/images\/10:30:pink.jpg\" alt=\"pink wool\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here she is, cut out, with another Santa face and my mostly finished teddy bear&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/images\/10:30:parts.jpg\" alt=\"parts\" \/><\/p>\n<p>and here she is!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/images\/10:30:mermaid.jpg\" alt=\"mermaid\" \/><\/p>\n<p>She is all wool fabric and stuffed with wool.  Her hair was a challenge until I remembered <a href=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/archives\/2004\/08\/stash-improvement\/#comments\"> this yarn<\/a>.<br \/>\nI bought it August 2004- I knew I would need it!
