I feel like I am still glowing from all the Midwest Love! People really did tell me that they read my blog and know my work- I&#8217;m glad I asked in that last post. I loved meeting everyone!<\/p>\n<p>I flew out on Thursday and got to visit the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.emeraldcitytheatre.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">workplace<\/a> of my daughter. It was fun to see where she spends her days. We went to the taping of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/programs\/wait-wait-dont-tell-me\/\" target=\"_blank\">Wait, Wait&#8230; Don&#8217;t Tell Me. <\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/waitwait2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4596\" title=\"waitwait2\" src=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/waitwait2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"337\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Yes, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.paulapoundstone.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Paula Poundstone<\/a> is just as funny as I thought she&#8217;d be; actually funnier. The strange part of the evening- the man who sat next to me on the flight out from Boston? Boy was I surprised when he walked out on the stage&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/wait-wait.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4597\" title=\"wait wait\" src=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/wait-wait.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"449\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It was Charlie Pierce. Weird.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday I was featured in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.redeyechicago.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">RedEye<\/a>, a Chicago free newspaper. WooHoo!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/redeye.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4600\" title=\"redeye\" src=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/redeye.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"449\" height=\"475\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I had to go find myself a copy on the way to picking up the rental car. Besides that I spent the day doing errands, petting my daughters&#8217; kitty, taking a nap. I was feeling vacation-y. Then on Saturday, we were up at dawn and running all day. And what a day it was! Eleanor (daughter) helped me all weekend and also documented the weekend- Thanks E!<\/p>\n<p>This is one of the boxes I sent out to Chicago- ready to unpack.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/foxes.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4598\" title=\"foxes\" src=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/foxes.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"602\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.renegadecraft.com\/chicago\" target=\"_blank\">Renegade <\/a>was scheduled to start at 11am but people were all around the whole time we were setting up and were seriously looking by around 10:30 am. A little before 11, a very nice person came into my booth, we chatted for a while and then she introduced herself- do you recognize her?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/marye.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4599\" title=\"marye\" src=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/marye.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"449\" height=\"336\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/maryengelbreit.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mary Engelbreit<\/a>! Yep- I&#8217;m starstruck! That started the day out very nicely.<\/p>\n<p>A little later-<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/booth2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4601\" title=\"booth2\" src=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/booth2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"602\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Eleanor kept taking pics when I was eating- eeps!
