Here is the basic pattern.  Circle, Fold in half, point A goes to point D, point B goes to point C. Start out by making a knot at the end of your thread.  Pull the needle and thread through the center point of the fabric towards the back.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image1537\" alt=\"325step2.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/325step2.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>3. Fold the circle in half, covering up your knot.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image1538\" alt=\"325step3.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/325step3.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>4. Imagine your half-circle in thirds and fold as shown-<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image1539\" alt=\"325step4.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/325step4.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>5. Your half circle is folded into thirds-<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image1540\" alt=\"325step5.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/325step5.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>6. Now to stitch it into place.  Slip your needle and thread up the inside of the outer petal-<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image1541\" alt=\"325step6.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/325step6.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>7. Stitch back into the fabric at the tip of the outer point. Bring your thread around and  stitch back down into the center.
