{"id":820,"date":"2008-04-14T11:27:51","date_gmt":"2008-04-14T16:27:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/archives\/2008\/04\/another-batch-of-tattooed-fellows\/"},"modified":"2008-04-14T11:27:51","modified_gmt":"2008-04-14T16:27:51","slug":"another-batch-of-tattooed-fellows","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/archives\/2008\/04\/another-batch-of-tattooed-fellows\/","title":{"rendered":"another batch of tattooed fellows,"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>starting now.\u00c2\u00a0 Getting going on these has not been a smooth process.\u00c2\u00a0 First, I misplaced some of the toile that I&#8217;d bought especially&#8230; well I did finally find it.\u00c2\u00a0 Isn&#8217;t it great?\u00c2\u00a0 The Hawaiian theme?<\/p>\n<p>And I&#8217;ve been having trouble dyeing flesh tones that I like- I am no expert with the dyes.\u00c2\u00a0 As a result, it is difficult to reproduce colors that I&#8217;ve been satisfied with before. (Reminder to self- take more notes!)\u00c2\u00a0 Also, all the scrap toiles I&#8217;ve been using take the dye differently.\u00c2\u00a0 Arg.\u00c2\u00a0 I have a crafting mantra- limit your variables&#8230; that&#8217;s the problem here- too many variables.<\/p>\n<p>So- here is the first to be finished-\u00c2\u00a0 on the left.\u00c2\u00a0 I looked and thought and brought him to show off at doll club, but his skin was just too, too pink for me.\u00c2\u00a0 I HAD to change it, but was afraid I&#8217;d ruin him&#8230;\u00c2\u00a0 in the end, I knew I had to do something.\u00c2\u00a0 I mixed up a wash of Burnt Umber acrylic paint and brushed it over him to tone down the color.\u00c2\u00a0 Thank Goodness, he survived the operation!\u00c2\u00a0 Phew!\u00c2\u00a0 So, now we present Mr. Tattoo Man #1 in the next series!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"414tattooguy1c.jpg\" id=\"image1607\" src=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/04\/414tattooguy1c.jpg\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"414tattooguy1credye.jpg\" id=\"image1608\" src=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/04\/414tattooguy1credye.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not sure you can even tell from the photos, but trust me, it&#8217;s better.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"414tattoo1cface.jpg\" id=\"image1611\" src=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/04\/414tattoo1cface.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"414tattoo1ctorso.jpg\" id=\"image1612\" src=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/04\/414tattoo1ctorso.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"414tattoo1c.jpg\" id=\"image1609\" src=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/04\/414tattoo1c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"414tattoo1cback.jpg\" id=\"image1610\" src=\"https:\/\/mimikirchner.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/04\/414tattoo1cback.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I sewed up 4 dolls.\u00c2\u00a0 One, I managed to spill ink on- ink that does not come out &#8230;\u00c2\u00a0 I told you I was having a rocky time with these.\u00c2\u00a0 I have another one finished which I will post later.\u00c2\u00a0 One more that I decided needed a color wash.\u00c2\u00a0 We will see if he survives his treatment.<\/p>\n<p>My plan is that when I have 5 or so finished, I will put them into my Etsy shop in a bunch.\u00c2\u00a0 I will post and notify people who have written to me, when that will happen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>starting now.\u00c2\u00a0 Getting going on these has not been a smooth process.\u00c2\u00a0 First, I misplaced some of the toile that I&#8217;d bought especially&#8230; well I did finally find it.\u00c2\u00a0 Isn&#8217;t it great?\u00c2\u00a0 The Hawaiian theme?
