Have you seen the new blog I’m associated with? Boston Handmade. It is connected to the Boston Etsy group that I’m part of. If you go there, you can see that I will be showing my work in Jamaica Plain, tomorrow evening (9/6). I will say it once again (since it has never happened), tell me you read about it on my blog and it will make my day!
I’m working on taking photos to send out when I need to include something when applying for shows.
I have never applied for a show — so you can ignore this — but I think including less in the photos may help to better show off your pieces. The photo’s you have posted are a bit overwhelming, you don’t know where to focus your eye. Maybe have a grandma and a boyfriend holding hands, to create an underlying story and to make the viewer curious.
Each piece is so full of personality, they each need an opportunity to show it off!
By the way, good luck! If I lived out there I would jump at the chance to see your art in a gallery.
The photos are really nice- they show your amazing variety! Do you think you will ever make dolls like your brides and grooms and Skye ever again? Also, you might not want to be bothered, but I just had to bestow the Nice Matters Award upon you because you really are so very nice. You can copy the .JPG from my blog and pass it on if you so desire. Thank you for all the encouragement, Friend. Oh, and I have some advice to you too. You mentioned recently about meeting Lilly? Why not get an agent to represent your work to galleries? I think your work is much more “Art” than “craft” anyway.
The middle one makes them look like they are in a crime fighting organization. Your work is so wonderful and varied Mimi – such a treat it see it all together like this.
Just found you! Lovely dolls! My girls’ clothing line is DOLL! :) I’ll make this a regular stop…such fun things to see! Hugs to you…Cheryl :)

I love the little babies with the closed eyes! Your work is so vun and great!
I’ve been making dolls for a long time but can’t seem to part with many of them. I don’t know how you make the cloth hair for you wool ladies or how you attach it. I seem to have a problem with the hair part of my dolls. Your site is wonderful, such creativity and talent!
