turkeys

We drove down to Connecticut on Patriots Day (that was April 17 this year for non-Massachusetts residents) to go see family. While we were there we met these guys… there were 2 hens

followed by 2 toms.

Unfortunately we did’t get a good front view picture, but you can probably tell how amazing they are. I never saw a wild turkey when I was a kid. I don’t think I started seeing them until about 10 years ago, and only when I was in Connecticut. My husband was on the bus recently and there was a wild turkey crossing Mass Ave in Cambridge- okay, so they are getting closer.

  1. great pictures! My husband is from Connecticutt and we go to a zoo in Bridgeport that has peacocks walking around free.
I have a question for you (you have always been so great about answering my questions!) my mom and I are heading out of NH and coming to visit Boston for a few days at the end of next month and I wondered what places you would suggest to visit…any advice would be great. we have been to Boston a lot, and my mom grew up in cambridge but we don’t really know the area too well…just the normal tourist places…anyway, any advice you could give would be great!! thank you!

  2. I love turkeys. They get a bum rap but I think they are just awesome. I have a relative that has them as pets. One Tom became the best bud of an elderly relative.
