I was down in Connecticut again over the weekend. Frosty Sunday morning. I went to the Red Cross’s Antique and Collectibles Show- I try to go every year. Look what I got-

My excuse is that I’ll be able to use it to display my dolls when I go to a show- we’ll see how that works out!
Also- look who has a new website- Susan Fosnot. Check it out!

My paper doll from Ana Ventura arrived from Portugal yesterday- Oh Joy! I love it!

I was thrilled to see that she is one of the images incuded in Ana’s Christmas card set… which I have, of course, ordered also… so I still have goodies to look forward to in the mail.
Here is a better picture (Ana’s own) of this beautiful artwork.

her hair is felted wool roving- blue dreadlocks

and here she is swimming

I found this tea towel when going through the stuff at my parents’ house. I liked it, so put it aside. Later I noticed the signature and looked it up on ebay- sure enough there is a whole lot of Tammis Keefe textiles. I love these!

I love the caligraphic look of this one-

oh no! I’m suppose to be clearing stuff out, not finding new things I want!
Yesterday I got together with Abby from While She Naps. This is a first for me- meeting someone in person, who I’ve connected with through blogging. It was great! She brought me this wonderful little owl-

and she went through my piles of too much fabric and went home with 2 bags… I am hoping she will come back soon and take more! I got to see her sweet new little doll– I loved the patchwork technique and excellent color choices.
We talked about blogging, what it has added to our lives, which ones we read, the people we have connected with and why. Things we’ve learned, what you can or can’t say in emails or online. It is so great to have a person I can visualize, connected to a blog I read.
I can’t believe how long it’s been since I posted. I must have been busy doing something…

felt hair- makes me think of Marge Simpson

I’ve gone off on another tangent… Santa did it. I’ve got a bunch of these dolls in my head that just have to be made, so the animals will have to wait, I’m afraid.
This second Santa has a different kind of fur for his hair and beard-

and this mermaid; she isn’t made from wool. She is made from linen napkins that I got last year at the Antique and Collectible Show. I got them at the end when they said to fill up a bag for $1. Her hair is linen too.

lastly is this little winter girl. She started looking a bit too close to Rosa’s dolls… the circle face.

These dolls are circling my thinking back to some of my first dolls. Faces and materials of these dolls-here and here. The hair on this lady.
