I have moved forward on costuming this doll. I have made a pattern for the cape and cut out the fabric. I am working on a pattern for the tunic. I want it to be black and white- I am looking at these two fabrics. One is a cotton gingham, the other is a more interesting textured wool. I will choose by the way they drape with the pattern I’m working on.
I have a pretty good idea of what I am going to do now, except for the feet.
bodywork 2
I have 8 head and bodies done. Most are tagged with my pattern codes- so hard to keep things straight. I think I matched them up correctly. I have put the first coat of gesso on 5 of them.
These feel like money in the bank!
New Bag…
The bag is done. The sharpie is for scale. I took it out for a test drive today… this will not be an everyday purse for me unless I can get myself a minature sketchbook and smaller size everything else that I seem to be totally dependent on… I’m not good at transitions!
purse #1
Mimosa
I am amazed every year when this tree blooms. It just seems unbelievable that this tree can survive in Boston!
Mary GrandPre
Beautiful artwork of Mary GrandPre. Link from Loobylu.

handbags
If my crochet bag turns out well, I want to try and make one of these. Ben came home yesterday with shopping in very pretty red color plastic bags… he was wondering why I wouldn’t let him throw them away!

boudoir dolls
I watched “The Thin Man” the other night. If I ever get around to making a boudoir doll, I think I will use Myrna Loy as a model!
Boudoir dolls have interested me for a while so I’ve collected images from ebay here.
Great reference site- http://home.fuse.net/boudoirdoll/
so sad- when I went to my bookmarks to look at some other sites I’d marked a while ago, they are no longer there.
