and another present that got finished-
This make-do is made on an old glass match holder-
The bottom of the container has a rough surface for striking the matches.
I made this for a friend. The match holder had belonged to her mother, but my friend didn’t have any use for it so I told her I’d make it into a pincushion.
I think I’m caught up now on my gifts and can start thinking about Valentines. And getting those tutorials finished that are half written in my drafts.
Lovely. :0)
this one really appeals to me. I love the shape… how it is strapped down and the bunny on one side chicken on the other… Just great!
Bunny? OH! I saw a sea theme – the colors/shape say sea urchin to me. It’s wonderful that you are able to give new life to a formerly ‘useless’ object. These sort of re-imaginings are really interesting to see, a small glimpse into the creative process.
How much does the found object influence the pincushions you create?
what dreamy pincushions!! the colors on this one are so perfect and the little house is about the sweetest thing i’ve ever seen!!
How gorgeous! These pincushions are so lovely and whimsical. I followed your links back to the tutorial, and am looking forward to making a few of my own.
How clever and lovely! Seeing your makes me want to rummage for all my little containers I’ve been saving and give it a try. Thanks for sharing!
Your friend is very lucky!
