Yesterday I thought I had finished this doll. I took a lot of photos and couldn’t get any that I liked. For some reason, my camera doesn’t do well with reds. But besides that, I didn’t like how the doll was looking. I finally realized it wasn’t the photos, it was the doll! Here are some photos from yesterday- the color is actually pretty close to true in these ones-
And here she is today after a little make-over-
I redid her hair-do and I’m a lot happier.
I’m still not satisfied with the photos though. arg!
she is sassy!
I love the faires! it is getting so I can’t wait to see an update each day!!
The doll is beautiful! I like better the hair in the last pictures. I love the legs and feets, a really ballerina.
Oh! I forgot to tell you that it’s true, you’re right about my “can’t draw” list…. I’m sure “I can’t” is “I don’t want” :)
Wow … all of your fairies are just too divine! :-) I also like your idea of using your old sewing thread as hair. I may have to try that out on one of my dolls – if you don’t mind. (I have lots of pretty metallic threads that are too old to sew with on the machine, but I hate the thought of just throwing them away. What a great idea!)
Well, I think the bobbles across the top are a stroke of genius. I, too, find the red impossible, and never did get a shot of my babushka dolls (in red and orange corduroy) that I was happy with. Causes so much flare. Love your doll, Mimi, it’s made me covetous. A sure sign of success.
Mimi, she’s darling! She looks much happier with her new “do”. I love all the fat fairies. Your work this year has been so different than what I am used to from you and I just love it. I didn’t think I could love your dolls any more than I did already! I always look forward to seeing what comes out of your heart/head/hands next!
She’s my favorite fairy so far :)
