I didn’t get much done on the blanket this week-
It is 29 inches long now. It is getting bulky to work on- warm, but hard to maneuver.
My doll is coming along, although she won’t be finished for doll club tomorrow. Here is where I was this morning-
I wanted the sweater to be more form fitting. I ended up cutting it down the front and took some darts at the sides. No buttons yet- actually, I’m not sure about how I’m going to close the sweater.
The coat is mostly done- no button yet. She’s got felt shoes- no buttons yet. I am trying out this hair- undyed cashmere goat.
I decided she needed another layer- vest in progress-
And here she is at the end of the day with her vest on. I’m thinking of going with tibetan lambswool hair- it fills more space and the frizzies have a lot of personality.
Everything is pinned on- hair, sweater, vest, coat, shoes. Everything needs closures of some sort… well the hair will need glue. I’m still thinking about some lace too- I paint “dyed” some, but I’m not satisfied with the color yet. And I’ve run out of time for today.
The details are amazing Mimi. If only we all had such luxurious choices when we got dressed! And, for what its worth, the doll’s hair does give her personality in the last photo. The other looks sort of wise but also sad …
You got a great bag. i love the hair. the blue and yellow are so ethereal and heavenly.. sun and moon etc.
I can’t get enough dolls and critters right now. Of course mine can’t compare with yours but they are so satisfying.
Oh…I like her….she has a story to tell.
My money’s on the Tibetan Lambswood do sticking…
It looks funky.
Apart from that I’m speechless. I’m not even going to start on the shoes.
She is so beautiful, for a moment there I thought she was going to be a little balding old man, watching her progress was lovely.
holy cow! that doll is gorgeous! i like the frizzy hair.
how about tiny snaps to close that sweater?

i love the frizzy hair! a nice closure for the coat might be if you had a tiny wooden toggle or a bone button. or maybe one of those coins with a hole? but, the idea for a chinese knot closure would be really cool too, i think.
It is so great to see you get carried away in a doll like this, to the point that you are running out of time in the day to carry out all of your ideas. She’s fantastic.
Oh, Mimi. She is fantastic. I loved being able to see some of the progression, too. And count me in for another vote on the crimpy hair. It’s amazing to see the difference made by the addition of the vest. How wise of you to know she needed another layer! Just beautiful! I’m not a doll maker but wish I were …
Superb evolutionary process.
I love her and that expression haunts me. Thank you for sharing.

Firstly, I want hair like that. I want a Tibetan lambs wool wig. Secondly, only in my wildest and most Die Zauberflöte dreams could such sumptuous clothes be imagined.
The vest was a great addition, and I agree that the Tibetan lambswool hair gives her more vitality. As usual, I appreciate the in-process photos and thoughts.
It’s amazingly fun to see the evolution of this doll. Details are glorious!
I was carried away by doll-adulation and forgot to include how much I love your blanket. The colors are amazing! If little progress is made, surely it’s because you have had other things brewing!
I just stumbled across your beautiful doll blog. I am amazed! I love the little character, person with a story, you are creating. I love fairytales. She fits in a fantasy world with fantastic talking animals! It is wonderful to see how she has progressed.
