Lilla gave me a copy of her book to give away. And, she signed and decorated the front page too- so pretty!
I know I mentioned the book already but I have been leisurely reading it, thinking about what she says and doing some of the prompts. I love this book. As I read along I think to myself- I do that too! or I think that too! And (maybe) I thought I was the only one. I remember a similar feeling when I first discovered podcasts and listened to loads of artist interviews. I felt so connected to people I didn’t know and amazed at our similar experiences and ways of thinking about the work.
Lilla is teaching an e-course which is an expansion on the book- all about the art markets, making work that sells, all her secret (art) agent wisdom. Check it out here.
So, if you want to be in on the give-away, leave a comment here. Anyone can enter- I’ll foot the bill for shipping wherever you are. The comment has to be on the blog- if you get the email, click over to comment. One entry per person. The giveaway will close on Sunday, March 3 at midnight est. I’ll do the random number generator thing on Monday, March 4. Good luck!
after a few comments I want to be clear- this is not a craft book, it is a book about the business of making art. You can check out the description on Amazon.
I live in Turkey and I wish we had more arts and crafts books. This blog has been extremely inspiring for me. I have sewed a bunch of teddy bears. I can never have enough craft books (since there is so little here). :)
Yes, please! The book looks awesome!
I’m in! It sounded really interesting when you wrote about it before.
I’m always so inspired by craft and sewing books. Would love another ;)
I’ve been thinking about this book ever since you mentioned it the other day. Would love to have a copy!
Would love to have a signed one!! Then I can pass on the one I have to another artist to enjoy. Spreading Lilla Love!!
Have loved your work forever and have recently learned of Lilla from Smart Creative Women. Would love to have this book –but you’d need to sign it, too ;)

Guess I should get the book, I have had it on my wish list on Amazon since it came out this fall. Interesting to hear your perspective!
May be just the inspiration I need to move from CPA to crafter/artist. One can dream.

Mimi you never cease to amaze me. You have worked hard and have come a long way ! I would love to win this book. Hope all is well with you.
Would love to be on the list, too!
Creating tends to be an easy and natural process for us makers, the business end often not so. Many a times it takes out all the fun for me. I am curious about Lilla’s experienced view on it.
Thank you both for sharing.
Hi Mimi, this book sounds great, a really inspiring read!
This book sounds like it contains the inspiration and ideas to help
take the steps necessary to earn money for doing something we
love.
Mimi. I have been cyberstalking — I mean reading your blog — since I stumbled across a doll at Craftland. I think balancing making something that sells (and sells for a profit?) and continuing to love the process of making is one of the major questions facing many. Looks like a good read. Thanks for sharing.
Mimi, if you recommend this book, then I need to read it. Thank you for the giveaway!
Yes, please!
Would love to win it–thanks for sharing!
Congratulations Mimi on being in such a pretty book. I already checked it out on amazon and would love to read it cover to cover! Thanks for the chance to win it!
I’m quite interested in this book – the library system does not yet have it! – so winning a copy would be a lovely thing. Thanks.
Thank you for the opportunity to win this book!
I would love to have that book!

Hi Mimi,
What a nice surprise! I just found your site while googling E J Taylor images. I started reading and saw that you are having a giveaway for Lila Rogers new book AND I’m still in time to throw my name in the bucket;) I make stuff too and would love to own this book!
I’ve had my eye on that book and would be thrilled to win it. Thanks for the opportunity!
Oh, I would love to win….looks fabulous! Thank you for a chance to win! Have a great day:)
Love your work and enjoy seeing your studio. Always wonder how to balance
the business side with the busy-ness of making art. Until that dream agent appears, Lilla Rogers’ book, I Just Like To Make Things, looks like an answer to prayer!
Thanks for all your posts — esp. enjoy your foxes ( lovely combinations of fabrics & outfits ).
It looks real cool, cheers Marie
I’m in! At first I was hesitant since I’m in another part of the world but yey! thanks for taking the hassle of shipping it anywhere in case… :)
~~xoxo
I’d love a copy of the book! Love your blog :)
I bought the book. It just arrived and I took it to quilt meeting. I had to loan it out to eager souls before I had a chance to read it or do the exercises.
Wow! Really inspirational and probably something I really need –
I’m pretty happy with my creativity, lacking in my business sense. Definitely want to look into taking this course!
Yes, that sounds like a wonderful read! I too would love to read it and pass it on to another maker. Lovely giveaway, Mimi. Thanks.

This has always been my dream! What I need is guidance and movitation
