Violet- girl doll #3

I know you aren’t suppose to have favorites amongst your babies but… so far, I’m loving this one! I think it’s her hair. There is always a certain amount of magic in this doll making thing- you can do the same thing on any number of dolls and sometimes it comes out better… well, and of course, sometimes it goes the other way- inexplicably yuck!
She is made of fulled (felted) woven wool. Her tutu is vintage cotton organdy. She is 19″ tall. Her hair is made of wool knit from a thrifted boiled wool vest. I also used it for Kitty 10 and it is almost all gone- too bad because I love the color.
Here is a back view-

I can’t remember, have you ever mentioned where you buy your wool? She is lovely, so springy! Here in Northampton it’s very foggy and springy this morning!

These dolls are wonderful! Such fine detail. I aree with Shula, this style of hair in particular is really beautiful. What a great job :)

Just returned from teaching trip and had a moment to check your blog. My goodness! You’ve been busy. Your girl dolls are so personable and sweet. I love them. Violet, yes… well, shhhhhh, but I’d have to say she’s my favorite too… not just the hair, although it’s mighty cute.
