Cashmere butterflies and flowers- lots to love!
Often, when I am starting a new group of dolls, I go back to designs I have done previously to get inspired. I used this beautiful lady as an inspiration for this baby. I love how these colors work together.
The applique pieces (flowers and leaves) are all cashmere. So soft!
And here are 2 outside photos- doesn’t this baby look glorious next to the coleus!
Hi again! I’m back to work on dolls after taking time off to do other life projects. I did a lot of boring stuff but also worked on a quilt top.The top is mostly finished and I plan to do the quilting part after I finish my fall shows (October and November) or maybe after Christmas. Anyway, finally something finished to show you!
This is the last baby for now.
Lots of soft fabrics- cashmere and angora blends- appliqued onto this sweet baby.
All the babies should all be in my etsy shop by tomorrow evening. Hope you are all coping with this crazy world situation. We have gotten through another week.
Here is hope for the Spring and Summer ahead. I am planting seeds and starting plants under lights in my basement. It gives me something to look forward to.
Here is the back if you were curious.
Still doing the bird babies… hmm, maybe it has something to do with not leaving the house for 6 weeks (or so)!
A sleeping baby is a beautiful sight.
The lowest bird is made of an angora blend so is fuzzy and soft. The other 3 birds, and the hat, are all cashmere; also soft :-)
This morning I finished and delivered my 100th scrub cap- I’ll have to make a lot more to put a dent in my fabric stash! Going forward, I will be spending more time on my own artwork but will also continue to make the caps as they are needed.
Spring Baby in the midst of a pandemic. I will just keep on working because what else can I do? We are well into Spring here in Boston- daffodils and trees beginning to leaf out. Lots of the green shoots in the garden are cropped at about 4″ high by voracious rabbits. Other plants are not touched. It is good to see the garden come to life as everything else in the world feels like it has stopped.
How is everyone doing? I feel like I am moving in slow motion and having a very hard time focusing- on my work, on my audiobooks, on a podcast… I am getting a few things done although they are taking longer than usual (hooray, I did my taxes!) but wow. Everything is a slog. Anyway, I am so happy to have something finished and ready to post.
A bird baby with cashmere leaves.
And look at that- the weather has been nice enough that we took out the porch chairs to enjoy the Spring sunshine whenever it appears.
