Yes it’s a stag and it is a hunting scene. This is some classic toile.

Hounds all over and a man on a horse on the arm.

And then a wild boar on his back.

He is the last pirate for a while. I had fun making these fellows!
His braided beard was inspired by someone in our building :-)
This octopus fabric has been a favorite of mine.
He is wearing tails- the back flap is split up the middle.
I have on more pirate that I am trying to finish up, but this fellow jumped the queue.
I’m not sure what era these skeleton fashions are from- maybe Georgian?
I am being distracted by my little garden these days. It is nice to be outside and mess with the dirt!
He is #4 of the bunch.
He doesn’t have a hat. I just couldn’t bear to cover up his glorious hair.
More skeleton tattoos-
No beard and no mustache either!
He looks pretty grumpy.
He has an awesome pirate-y button on his belt.
I like the hat but his hair is pretty good too :-)
Stormy blue eyes. Another antique button.
I will tell you- it has been a challenge, figuring out how to put this fellow together. He is a very fancy pirate.
An antique button on his belt.
His hair in detail-
Fish pillow number 12 and the that’s enough fish pillows for now.
The purple body fabric was some more of the wool I took home from the free table at the rug hooking store. It had been a skirt once. Onto the next thing. Right now I am doing prep work- cutting and doing the machine sewing. It is always the best to have a bin-full of ready to go projects!
Their heads and tails- one fish has dark red, the other dark green.
The bottom fish is made from a beautiful vintage textured wool. The top fish sports a gorgeous wool plaid. Both fabrics were gifted to me- how lucky am I?!
The head and tail are a dark green boiled wool- so knit and kind of bumpy.
Dark red and orange to match colors in the plaid.
This next one is made from an old, moth-eaten Hudson Bay blanket. It needed a new life.
