There’s something about this baby’s mouth that’s very real and the stems and leaves bring to mind arm and legs inside the swaddling. very cuddly!

Another masterpiece – I like the quilt inspired flower appliques. What is that red on the body – did you have to back it?
The background fabric is an interesting weave of (mostly) red with black and tweedy bits of texture woven in- formerly a skirt, I think. I know it was Japanese fabric- I bought whatever it was at a Yard Sale of a local Japanese cultural group.
