This is the last of the 5 California-themed Tiny worlds.
And here they are, all together. There is the Painted Lady House, the Desert House, the Winery, the Cabin in the woods, and the Palm Springs house. Were there other obvious California scenes that I missed?
I know it isn’t an accurate representation of the San Francisco painted ladies because they are all in the city and in a group. But, that is what I was thinking about when I made this one. And it is sitting on a hill of California poppies.
As I have mentioned before, I will be teaching out in Sonoma, California next October. Check out the Well Crafted Sonoma retreat if you haven’t already. It is going to be awesome! There are just a few spaces left. I have been thinking about California landscapes to put into tea cups. My first idea was a winery since Sonoma is known for being wine country.
I attempted to make the roof look like the red tiles that seem so common in California.
I’ve got more to show. It is fun to work with a theme!
My friend, Robert Mahar, has invited me to teach at his creative retreat in Sonoma, California, next October. I’ve known Robert since the early days of blogging and he was tremendously encouraging when I was at a stage of my dollmaking, wondering if anyone would really be interested in my creations. He has been doing cool things for the last 20 years and I have no doubt that I will have a blast at his retreat! Check out Well Crafted Sonoma 2026 and maybe add it to your Christmas list :-)
In the meantime, Thanksgiving is over, dishes are washed, Christmas carols are playing and I am back in my studio. I am currently working on a pile of kitties and foxes. There is snow in the forecast so I will snuggle in and get some work done!
