fall fox fellow 3- the wanderer

11:16:fox boy 3a

This fox is a traveler.

11:16:fox boy 3b

11:16:fox boy 3c

He has all he needs for his wandering ways. A warm jacket and vest, a kerchief in one pocket and his map in the other. He has a backpack to hold his other necessities. His vest is soft flannel and I love the pine trees- perfect!

11:16:fox boy 3e

Here is a close-up of his supplies- his notebook, money, utensils, snack.

I will try to get the 6 available foxes into my etsy shop by the end of today.

fall fox boy 1- mushroom hunter

11:14:fox boy 1a

Mushroom hunting is a great excuse for a walk in the woods. No eating of foraged fungi is necessary. I am sure this fox is an expert though and knows the good stuff and will be making dinner later. You can see that he found a really big mushroom for his collecting bag.

11:14:fox boy 1b

The boy foxes I just finished are also made from hand-dyed by me wool fabric. I think you can see the color variations in these pics.

11:14:fox boy 1cCorduroy jacket, tartan vest, mustard yellow tie.

11:14:fox boy 1e

In his bag is his notebook and 2 mushrooms- a regular size one and a BIG one.

fall fox girl 3- fancy!

11:11:fox girl 3a

She is all dressed up, fancy fox style!

11:11:fox girl 3b

It pleases me no end to use little antique pearl buttons like those on her jacket.

11:11:fox girl 3c

11:11:fox girl 3d

Her dress is Liberty lawn and I used some antique (20’s?), never-used, still in original packaging, cotton trim at the bottom hem. As I was measuring it out, I noticed that it felt like it had a stiffener in it. That reminded me that being so old, I should be worrying about shrinking. A slight delay ensued while I washed and dried it. Any yes, it shrunk :)

Autumn Fox girl 1

11:9:fox girl 1a

Perfect fall clothes- corduroy jacket, lawn dress, cashmere shawl.

11:9:fox girl 1b

This batch of foxes is mostly made from hand-dyed (by me) wool fabric. The color has texture, if that makes sense- it’s a nice way to say it isn’t entirely even!

11:9:fox girl 1c

She’s got some great buttons- vintage (antique?) brass on the bag, metal on her coat with what I think are radishes on them!

11:9:fox girl 1f

Here she is standing among what are always my last flowers of the garden year.

Good Mail Day

I have some postcards in a show at the Artstream Gallery in New Hampshire. I called them stitched doodles. They are all approximately 4″ x 6″.

If you are interested in any of them, they are available here. There are lots of other amazing little gems of art available from artists around the world. Check it out!

This was the one that didn’t get sent because I needed to pick out 4 from the five I made.

the last girl

This is the last tattooed lady for now.

2 silk bows in her hair and one at her back-

And she went off to a new home!

The available ladies are all in my Etsy shop now.

And something I think is amazing- on Saturday afternoon, I posted the group picture of the ladies to Flickr. When I got up on Sunday morning, I had a flurry of new followers on Flickr which was odd, so I went over to see what was up. The photo had had almost 20,000 views since I’d posted it less than 24hrs before. As of posting this, it has 37,855 views. Wow! It is pretty neat to think of all those people looking at my photo! Hurray for the internet!
