I had a lot of fun with the details on this one. Don’t you love her jacket with the rabbit print and the corduroy collar and cuffs? I bought that rabbit fabric lots of years ago on a trip with my son to Portland, Oregon. Using the fabric reminds me of the trip!
I put a plaid panel on her backpack. Maybe I was inspired by Moonrise Kingdom which I watched recently (loved it!).
She has a silk bow at her ear. And she has a necklace with a heart, a leaf, and a feather.

It turns out that when the temperature is in the 90’s and the humidity is through the roof, I just can’t bring myself to dress my foxes in wool. This little girl fox is very summery indeed!
She has a Liberty dress and a linen jacket.
Her shawl is a rough raw silk.
She has her purse with a charm and a notebook in it.

I was hoping it was spring but we got a surprising amount of snow on Friday. No one was expecting the 14″ we ended up with! Hopefully it’ll all be gone soon.
It is that particular shade of green that I associate with preppiness. So I gave him a bright plaid vest too. It seemed like they’d go together.

He isn’t going to blend into the background.
Yes I know he isn’t all THAT colorful, but more than usually for me. I tend to go for the blend-into-the-forest fashions but I was influenced by the color choices of the students in my fox class. All their foxes had much more colorful outfits.
She is another quiet, unassuming fox. Her mom dresses her to blend into the forest.

And yes, we got some snow. I think the official number is 26″ but there was a lot of drifting.
Maybe it is a bit cold for butterfly hunting? But, he is an optimist.
His vest shows his passion. And his sweater is cashmere.

Happy Halloween everyone! Maybe you didn’t even notice but my blog was offline since Saturday. My husband tells me it got hacked, but honestly, I’m not sure what that means though I am sure it’s bad. He had to do all kinds of computer voodoo to clean it up so he spent even more time updating things around here. Thanks Honey! How do you like the new look? There are still a few things that need to be fixed and some things I need to figure out but I wanted to get back online as soon as possible.
We survived Hurricane Sandy with minimal damage. We lost some roof shingles and got water in the attic. It is fixed now. The power was out for just long enough that it felt like a fun adventure. We were very lucky. A lot of my neighbors are still without power and I’m sure the adventure is getting very old. And the news from the New York area is both very distressing and I can’t tear myself away from it.
I have managed to pull myself away from the news reports long enough to finish one thing- a professorial fox, dressed for Autumn.
