Perfect timing for first days of school!
She is made from the softest cashmere sweater- you can’t help petting her.
I made her a pleated skirt. I’ve never made one before. It was fun and easy with the plaid- it has all those marker lines.
the challenge can be to decide to make a girl kitty or boy kitty and have it look like a girl or boy. As opposed to making the doll and deciding if it looks like a boy or girl and going from there.
I love this pink wool. It was one of my purchases from my visit to Dorr.
4 December wips finished, 3 to go.
Kitty #6 is the last one for now. These were the kitty dolls I made while working on the pattern. These finished dolls are not all exactly like the pattern- particularly with their clothes.

I love how this photo makes the kitty look like he’s glowing!

and the next one-

None of these are in the shop quite yet. I have to get my inventory sorted out for the Boston Handmade Downtown Crossing store. I’ll probably take a few things out of my shop, add some of the new stuff- a general shuffle. It is that time of year. Anyway, there should be new dolls in the shop by Monday.

He is made of a heavy coat wool- not so easy to work with. But, oh, isn’t he cute?!

What a pair! I will post more photos of her, but the ones I took on a light background were no good so I need to reshoot.

She is made of linen. She is the smallest of all the kitties I made from the pattern- 13 1/2 inches.

Her dress will not be in this pattern, but maybe some other pattern in the future.

I am almost done with the pattern. I am trying to get decent photos, tweaking the wording, page order, general look of the thing. I guess it is time to show some of these cuties since that seems to be the way I declare them finished . I showed the first model way back at the beginning of October– wow, it is kind of shocking how long it takes me to do this.

This is the sweetest, softest one. She is made from a cabled wool/angora blend sweater. The cables sort of disappeared when I felted the sweater.
I get hung up on the dumbest things. Should I name the kitty or just name the pattern “Kitty”? If I give a boy and girl kitty name, will that set a precedent for future pattern naming? Flower names, tree names, food, historic, my personal favorite names, names hopelessly out of fashion? It is overwhelming! Opinions wanted please- is it better to give the doll a name or leave it plainly descriptive?
Some group shots-

Bye bye!

I’ve been working away at my kitty pattern, slowly but surely. I printed out what I had written and tried following my own diections (so far), as I made this baby present. I will get it done- I am feeling positive about this very slow approach to writing it. Gives me time to think it all out and mull over what I’ve already written.
The most recent tiny worlds are now in the shop.
