My computer doesn’t believe that houndstooth is a word, but really, it is!
And here are 3 fish with houndstooth weave wool.
This one looks like zigzag from a distance but close-up, you can see the houndstooth pattern.
This one is dark green and white- it is very soft so it is probably woven cashmere or maybe an angora blend, but I’m not sure. I bought some lengths of it at an estate sale of a fashion seamstress. In the house, I thought it was black and white!
And here they are, hanging out at the pool.
Two light colored fish. I remember exactly where I got the body fabrics- The top fish is an awesome coat fabric. I went to a fiber swap and someone had brought a vintage (70’s?) coat. I took that home! The white textured weave fabric I picked up in Northampton, MA after I did a show there. I went to a shop that sold supplies for rug-hooking. It had just changed ownership. The new owner put out a pile of free wool fabrics. Why yes, I did grab a bagful. That fabric was probably never going to work for rug hooking but it is good for me!
The last month has been busy, involving some travel and other fun and/or more boring real life things. Now I have something to show because, yes, I have been getting a little work done! It’s fish-y time. I cut out and sewed up a load of fish- that’s not even all of them.
Here is who got finished first-
Blue tweedy fish-
and blue sweater fish-
And there is more to come!
These are the last 2 of this owl group.
So many cable knits!
Both these owls has super-soft tummy patches.
Chums :-)
Lots of herringbone on this one.
Herringbone and
Houndstooth.
And the darker brown owl- he is shaggy.
He has herringbone too.
Lots of textures and patterns! The only fabric that isn’t reclaimed clothing fabric is the hood.
I started to put some owls together but was then struck down by some kind of bug. I am slowly getting better- better enough today to take some photos.
These 2 owls are of the Rusty Orange Owl family :-)
Owl 1-
And Owl 2-
This one has a soft cashmere tummy.
This is a big birthday! I’m raising a drink (hot chocolate) to toast my blog and all the good things it has brought into my life. Happy Birthday Doll blog!
I have started reading it from the beginning but it is kinda overwhelming!
Here is a kitty pic because they are so adorable-
