fox girl and bunny
I know I’ve talked about my connection to fabrics before somewhere, but in case you forgot ;-)
I love using fabrics that hold memories for me. I still have lots of fabric from my mom. I have fabrics that were gifts. I have fabrics that I purchased while traveling. This sweet little girl fox is wearing 2 memories for me- her shawl and a Liberty print dress. The shawl fabric was acquired on my first trip to Minneapolis, recorded here on my blog. Wow, that was a long time ago! I bought the Liberty fabric in San Francisco on my first (and only) visit to Britex. I was spending some quality shopping time with Sonya. And while I was sewing, I was remembering my travels.

Isn’t that butterfly fabric gorgeous? It is designed by Geninne Zlatkis and made by Cloud9, and perfect for my little fox girl.
She is wearing a school girl cardigan although so much softer (cashmere) than anything I ever had as a school girl!
She is made of some of my hand-dyed wool.

Some of these foxes are made from wool I dyed last summer. My not-very-good dye job means slight variations in color which I happen to like a lot!
I think he has a very nice face- he looks sincere.
His vest is a print of ginkgo leaves.

I was inspired by Japanese school bags for her back pack.

This dark blue dress fabric has always seemed a bit witch-y to me. Are there little fox girl witches?
Her jacket is a printed flannel and she has a spider web-by scarf around her neck.
In this photo you can see the pattern on the flannel jacket.
And of course she has her school bag because even little fox witches have to go to school.

He is pretty fancy in all the bright colors-
