fox girl 2

this little one is ready for a New England Spring day- where it isn’t actually warm but we are all pretending!

She has a ribbed wool shawl to keep warm- spring breezes can give a chill. And a dress made from some more beautiful Cloud9 fabric.

Tail room-

Cashmere sweater with embroidered loop closures. Her felt bag for treasures. The shawl has a beautiful brass floral button- guess I should have taken a photo where you could see it…hmmm.

And all her stuff-

The back of the dress closes with one button.

There were so many great links to explore on my blog tour this morning-

from CamillaMatt Stuart

from True-Up– Helen Dardik new fabric, here and here. Wow! I love it!

and fantastic stumpwork at Needleprint. Wish I could be in Bath for that Doll Fair too.

And more gorgeous Liberty fabric. I bought this one in several colorways so you will be seeing more of it!

I love the bow in the back. If I had a little girl in my life, I might be making one for her.

black kitty

I got sick. Totally kicked my butt. I am getting back to work slowly.

I have a lot of projects started- I am stockpiling dolls- cut out and stored in bins- thinking about and planning for and getting excited about Renegade Brooklyn. Kitties on the desk, Foxes in the bags. I found out that I can stuff dolls while lying in bed coughing.

Lining up the kitties-

And pulling out and trying on the fabrics for clothing-

One finished!

Isn’t this Liberty fabric gorgeous?!

Here is a very over-exposed photo so you can see her nose. It is so hard to photograph the black kitties.

fox girl 3

First doll of 2011!

People often ask me where I get my inspiration. This little girl is dressed in colors inspired by this wonderful illustration by Matte Stephens.

I love the rust red and mustard color combination.

some details-

Her dress is made of a sweet piece of Liberty fabric.

She is made from an over-dyed bit of beige cashmere. Originally a piece of clothing from my mom’s past.

and fox girl

the light was lovely this morning although the air was nippy.

I like her nose, with a smidge of white.

I have always liked doll clothes to come off- so that is the way I usually make them.

Also, go and see Salley’s show if you are in the Boston area. It is awe-inspiring! I am so glad I went to see it again. There is so much beautiful detail that you can never take it all in.

white cable kitty

More Liberty fabric but I’m not going to put that in the title since I ended up getting picked up by crazy  fake Patriotic spam sites when I did. Yep, weird.

This kitty looks ready for summer. Maybe she is an Australian kitty. The Liberty fabric was from a trip to London in 2008. It has been waiting in the stash for just the right moment.

All the kitties will go into my Etsy shop in the next day or two.
