It is a reddish brown color- I think it’s called oxblood.
did you feel the earthquake? I’m a little bit disappointed because I didn’t. My husband, who was in an office about a mile away, felt it strongly.
since I finished anything.
Finally!
I did some pattern tweaking. The shape of the head is slightly different,
and I made the hands bigger. Tiny changes.
There are not too many weeks until I need to send the work out to Chicago so I better get focused again and start finishing things. Renegade is coming fast!
I like his slightly worried look.
This is the same toile as yesterday’s man. I have a lady to finish up who is also cut from this fabric.
I will be putting the 3 latest men into my Etsy shop today.
tattooed man-
Check out this lovely video of my friend Salley and her latest project.
I have one more fellow and hopefully I will finish him up later today and get these three up on Etsy tomorrow.
I love this toile- it is a reproduction from Colonial Williamsburg.
It has George Washington and muses and medallions and all kinds of fun details.
Here is a top view of his head which shows the hair fabric more clearly. Also all the little stitches of the hair and beard applique and the beard details.
I am going to teach a Tiny World class on Saturday April 30. All info is here. Email me if you’d like to join in the fun.
Another fine fellow with excellent toile.
Once again, I couldn’t bring myself to limit the toile images so I made him another long-waisted man.
This poor fellow has been sitting around, waiting to get made since I don’t know when in 2008. Here is the first one I made.
His hat comes off. He has a bit of (handkerchief) linen around his neck.
I made him a felt flintlock pistol.
The coat front and tail are lined.
I’ll be cutting out some more men in the next few days but have to do some more dyeing first. Also, I need to let my poor fingers have a break and heal from sewing cotton. I find wool so much easier to work with. Anyway, off to Etsy to post all the fellows into my shop.
