This little girl is dressed perfectly for the summer weather we’ve been having here- you are never quite sure if you’ll be hot or need a sweater. She is prepared for a chill with a cashmere sweater.
Her toy bunny is safe in her purse.
It feels a little odd to be making a school girl dressed in wool and corduroy, with mittens and a scarf, when the calendar says June. Luckily, the weather has dipped and I was inspired to finish her up today.

I love topiary- And felt topiary is SO much easier to deal with than the living kind!
My studio needs a massive clean and so that is going to occupy at least some of my (US) holiday weekend. If you are having a long weekend, hope you are doing something fun!
I was away for some family graduation festivities, then back to too much computer and other non-studio work, but I finally was able to get to my studio and finish a few more Tiny Worlds.
The other Tiny Worlds are in my Etsy shop, these and 2 more that I need to photograph tomorrow, should be listed by the end of the day tomorrow.
This one is bigger than the cups- a bigger house and more trees too. It’s a little house in the woods. In a beautiful Portuguese bowl.

Teacups with flowers are most of the tea cups I can get. It works well with my fantasy gardens.
This very delicate teacup has what I think are sweet peas, but I gave it a topiary garden.
I was scheduled to do a Tiny World Pincushion class but we didn’t get enough people to run it. Timing is always a mystery when planning these things. When I am expecting to teach, I get out all my materials and get to work. That way I have fresh memories of the process. So, the result of teaching is always some new finished pieces. Whenever I get going on the Tiny Worlds, it is hard to stop!

This is a longer and leaner version of the girl dolls I’ve been working on. The other ones are based on about 5 years old. This design is more of a 9 – 12 year old. The design is closer to the pattern I used in the past. This girl looks like a serious and smart school student- she’s all about math and graphic novels for fun. She loves school, unlike me as a kid.
Here she is without her coat. A red and white striped cashmere sweater- dreamy!
