owl baby 2

here is the doll from last week that I am finally getting around to posting-

another baby and owl- this time a sleepy baby on a blue background.

a little bit of scale-

and some sun-

On the topic of creative slump- I have cycles I go through… one of the very positive things about having a blog is that I have a record of it. I can remember how things were going, even if I didn’t write it down at the time. The blog is a concrete reminder that I get past the slow times and get energized again. Right now I am distracted by many things- the studio project, the class I’m starting today, other stuff in my life that doesn’t make it into the blog- that boring and difficult real life stuff. There is some kind of brain exhaustion happening too- I need the break. It all adds up to no new dolls. I focused on the studio project over the weekend and got lots done. I feel like I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. When it is all done, I am going to have a party and you are all invited!

garden baby

This baby is the same color palette as this garden lady. I love, love, LOVE these colors together!

Okay, sorry about that. Back to the topic at hand.

Did you know that Firefox can make all the colors in your photos look terrible? I could not figure out what was wrong- my photos looked fine on Iphoto and totally washed out when I put them on my blog or flickr. When I whined loudly enough about it, my sweetie figured out the the problem- check it out.

swaddled baby- fairy baby

*note- today 6/16/09, I redid some of the details on this doll and changed the photos.

This baby says flower fairy to me. She is so soft- the green background is woven cashmere. The flowers in the crown are made of all soft knits- cashmere and angora blends.

Here is the 4 babies together.

note- this is the old version of the baby- I changed the bottom flowers and added details into the blue butterfly.

swaddled baby- owl

the hat is suppose to be moon-ish.

Several people mentioned that my hand gave them an indication of the size. I forget that there are new people here who haven’t seen scale photos like this one. These swaddled babies are a little bit smaller then life-size- mostly about 12 inches long.

summer flower baby in December

this baby is the antithesis of todays weather!

So I got mentioned on Design Sponge last Friday- Thanks so much Camilla! Unfortunately I am working flat out for my show this weekend and won’t be putting any new work into my Etsy shop until next Monday. So- that is the word- shop update on Monday, December 15 starting at 12, eastern standard time. I have no idea what I will be posting because it will be what I have after the show. And one never knows about shows.
