working away

Things are very busy- so much that I am getting behind with posting the finished dolls- and that is usually the most fun for me! That is what happens when there is a show around the corner.

Everything, everywhere in the house is covered with my projects. Some studio photos-

I don’t know if you can see, but I’ve set up some photo postcards of the swaddled babies on my shelf to keep me inspired. I made several sets of photo postcards to sell at the show this weekend.

My other exciting buy is some fabric from Spoonflower– I am SO excited about this!

Right now I am trying to get some ornaments put together for the weekend. I will post photos when I figure out a way to put them together that I like.

This morning I snipped my finger with my shears- ouch! That was a sign to me- Slow Down! Of course it is also a sign that I have nice sharp scissors- lucky me :)

time for a new party girl!

Look who got finished today!

It was so much fun to work with these bright colors- especially because we’ve had some gray days around here recently.

Her colors and dots were inspired by my little friends that live next door. They came over at the end of the summer and I let them decorate my unfinished dolls with die cut felt bits. You can see some of their handiwork in this post. This girl has been sitting on my desk for the past few months and those dots grew on me. So, they are now on her skirt!

more kitties

You probably thought that I would be done with these kitties once the pattern was finished. Well, I thought that anyway. But somehow, a few more need to be made.

The grey kitty needed a sister- special request.

And then I realized that the odd Benetton sweater I found at the thrift store a while back would be perfect for a kitty. And actually quite useless for anything else!

Can you see the yellow zigzags on the grey?

Next week at this time, I will be setting up my booth at the South End Holiday Market.  I will not list any new pieces in my Etsy shop until after the show (Monday, Dec. 14). If you see something in the next week that you feel you must have, just email me. Even though I am not listing them on Etsy, I am always thrilled to sell them!

and a whole lot more!

I’ve gotten very distracted with these- I think I am up to a whole town now!

It was one of those, I just need to do one more, type of situations!

This one looks very fantasy suburbia to me-

Of course I needed a few more snow scenes-

And then this last one- it makes me laugh!

TW5

yes. Of these 5, this is the one I want to live in.

That is all the tiny worlds for now. I’ve cleared all the felt off my desk. I will be getting these into my Etsy shop soon, hopefully tonight. So many things to finish, so little time before SOWA Holiday Market!

fantasy islands

oh yes, I would love to spend a week or so in this tiny world!

The first has a tropical feel. This second one feels more like a cabin on a lake to me.

Hope everyone who celebrates had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. We had 2 out of 3 kiddos- missed you Julian! And we got to see cousins Kate and Caleb- when everyone grows up, it is wonderful to get a chance to spend time together. Now the haul to Christmas begins. Ahh!

practically a village

I am trying to crank out goodies for the various seasonal things I am doing. These past few days have been busy making houses in between clearing off beds for the ones that are going to be coming home.

This one has the prettiest cup-

My biggest challenge is finding decent tea cups at the thrift shop. Not so easy when my price limit is $2! Luckily, some of my friends know what I use in my work and drop off goody bags.

I hope you’ve all checked out Salley’s blog!
