I seem to be doing everything possible to not work on my owl pattern, including getting sick for a week. I am still not totally clear-headed. But I have started. And, I did work slowly on some other projects while my energy level was low.
I love how the bird lady came out and wanted to work more with the colors and design. I have a feeling I will be revisiting the interlocking birds again and again.

in this one, the birds are all basically the same size and shape.
This was my carry along project when I went to Chicago for Renegade Craft Market. You know, in case I got bored. HA HA! Yes. The poor little thing has been sitting in a ziplock bag for more then a month now. Finally, finished.
The fabrics are mostly heathery and soft. The bird is a blue-grey piece of cashmere fabric that I dyed a while back.
I got the owls back from the Hoot! Show at the Renegade Spotlight Gallery and they are now in my Etsy Shop. And yes, I am working on a pattern. No promises for how long though… since I am afraid to open Photoshop and InDesign… once I get over that hurdle, things might proceed more rapidly.

The first (of many, I hope) meet-up was this morning. It was fantastic!
There were 6 of us. Liz, Louise, Betsy, Kerry, Crystal, and me. It was exactly what I’d hoped for- we yakked away about google stats, changes at Etsy, shows in the area, blogging and Twittering… the kind of talk that has a very limited audience in my life. And after 1 1/2 hours of talking, we all trooped down to the Goodwill and did some thrift store shopping. It was so much fun! Next meet-up, Feb. 10. Everyone is welcome. If you feel funny about coming into a group of people who know each other, email me and we can have a pre-meet-up meet-up or just get acquainted by email.
And, the first doll of 2010. How apt is it that it is a baby? This little one was all ready to be appliqued- all the pieces cut out and pinned on, but I never got to it before Christmas.

These babies are #71, 72, and 73 of the year and so now I have surpassed last years’ total of 72 dolls- wow and Hurray!
I love the colors of fall.
