Two fairy houses in a garden.

And here is a back view, if you are curious.

Two fairy houses in a garden.
And here is a back view, if you are curious.
I think of these little cottages on a hill as the classic tiny worlds. Along the lines of the lovely illustrations in this book- The Little House by Virginia Lee Burton.
And here are 3, all together-
Hope you are having a good weekend. It is a rainy day here in Boston so I have the perfect excuse to stay in my studio and play.
I am working on a batch of these. I’m lucky that I have a box of cups in waiting since I haven’t been visiting any thrift stores lately.
A cup with violets-
And a cup with summer flowers-
This fine fellow could blend right in in the forest.
Can you see that his beard and hair are made out of a leafy fabric?
This is the last guy for now. I plan to get these last ones into my etsy shop over this weekend.
I am all over the place with various fellows but like I said, I am picking up things that were already sewed and stuffed. There is one more guy after this, then on to something new.
This time the stripe pants/tights mean circus… maybe it is boots vs slippers that make it pirate vs circus in my head? (If you have no clue what I’m talking about, I’m referring back to this post.)
He has an impressive chest-
His “buckle” is an antique button. I’ve had that very special rick rack for ages and I love how it looks here. It is so nice to find the perfect use for all my treasures.
I’ve got a few more fellows on my work table. I am finishing ones that I’d (mostly) stuffed and then put back into the bin. It is always easier to get to work on something that already has a good start.
I think he has kind of a pensive face.
This is such an amazing toile. It was a good sized sample that I found in a vintage store. I am so sorry that I have now used it all up.
It’s the striped pants- they will always say pirate to me.
Lots of happy skeletons on his skin.
He is hanging out in the garden.
I am going to work on a few fellas before I move on to something else. The first to get finished is this Green Man with an awesome boar hunt toile.
Some face close-ups-
He has foliage and some country house bits on his arms.
Yeah, lots and lots of foliage and branches everywhere!
This is the last merman for now. It has been a big relief to finish some pieces!
Silvery eyes and seaweed hair.
There are 3 of these mermen available and I will be putting them into my etsy shop today.
