Happy Mother’s Day! I hope you had a nice day. We had a Skype family visit- so nice to sit and see everyone!
I got these last 3 finished. I restarted my juices by doing some fabric dyeing and by spending a few days away from my desk. Sometimes you have to do that.
It is PINK world! Lot’s of pastels in these ones.
I listed all the others in my etsy shop and I’ll get these in soon.
These were finished yesterday but the weather did not cooperate with picture taking.
The mug above is not a gorgeous Portuguese traditional pottery classic. It is a cheap Made in China rip-off that I bought at the thrift shop. Oh well- it is still pretty.
And another lighthouse-
I started another 3 tiny worlds, but suddenly I’ve run out of steam. So I went to work on the foxes and there was no energy there either. I will probably spend the afternoon puttering around the studio. Tomorrow I am off to Portland (Maine) to pick up the son from school. Who knows what I will end up working on next week!

This is a new design. I had a hard time figuring out how to sew the roof on. teeny, tiny stitches!
One of the incentives to teaching a class is that is gets me going on making a new group of Tiny Worlds. I’ve finished 3 so far.
Sometimes I get an *idea* but the execution turns out to be a challenge. The idea- a gingerbread house tiny world. That is as far as my idea went when I started in on it- pretty typical work method for me. I like to figure it out as I go along. Anyway, I love these little worlds, but they were not easy or obvious!

This one was certainly inspired by all the foresty tiny worlds that happened on Saturday.
I had a fun expedition up to Dorr Mill Store yesterday and came home with a big bag of fabrics- always inspiring! They are now all getting washed and ready for projects. Back to the studio!
We had another great meetup yesterday. Topics that I can remember going by- how to get artwork to markets, holiday shows and application deadlines, edgy shows vs traditional shows, Facebook vs Twitter, thinking about licensing, 1000 Markets, all the good things that are happening at Etsy, where to get business and stickers printed and what it costs… if this is what you are interested in and everyone around you is either clueless or bored by it all, our meetup is the place for you!
