so many doggies!

I haven’t made any dogs in a long time. I just checked and the last batch was June 2014. Well, the dogs are back and there is a big pile in progress on my table.

This is why- When I went out to San Francisco in 2013 for Renegade Craft, I brought dogs and I sold every single one. So, before I went out again in 2014, I thought I better make a whole lot more. I started cutting. And I cut out white dogs, yellow dogs, beige dogs, black dogs, grey dogs, orange dogs… I just kept thinking, what about this other color or texture or combination. It looks like I sewed up about 10 to take to SF. And, you guessed it, not a single one sold. So all those cut-out dogs just sat in their bin while I worked on other things. I have finally pulled them all out, done an inventory, cut out additional pieces as needed and have sewed them up- There were 24 more! I am picking out some to finish up now and hopefully the rest won’t have to wait TOO long to have their turn.

And, side note, lots of things coming up in the garden. Spring is really here!

There is this thing- I work away in the evening and I am finishing something. It is maybe 10 pm. I look and am convinced that the piece is an unsalvageable disaster. I have learned though. Step away. Give it another look in the morning. Yes, everything is going to be okay…

What is in the queue

This is my work table-

I’ve got a whole lotta man going on! Yep, there are the ones that are moving forward first, stuffed and standing. Then there are the flat ones in the front, waiting to be stuffed. There are a few that still need a few parts cut out and to be sewn up. All the stages of the tattooed men.

Hopefully I will have some finished pieces soon and the weather will cooperate for photographing them. See you soon!
