I just had to make a snow scene before I finished this batch.
Now this last one had to get made because somehow I always end up with 13 and I’m superstitious… I know, crazy. So I had to make one more.
Okay, so that’s it for now. I will be trying to get them all into my etsy shop in the next few days. Everything is now listed in the shop!

I am almost finished with the Tiny World pincushions. Two more after this and hopefully there will be a little dry weather tomorrow to take photos.
This one is made on a beautiful cup which has unfortunately lost it’s saucer. A very lovely lady in Washington DC gave me 2 of them when I was doing the Smithsonian Show. I am so happy to give them a new purpose.
First we’ve got a barn with a rooster on the mug.
Those tiny sheep were a challenge!
And this design is something I’ve pondered for a long while. I wanted to do a night scene. I even found those wonderful star pins at Tale of the Yak, when I was in San Francisco last summer. And then, to bring it all together, I found this black teacup at the thrift store and so it happened.
Not too Halloween-y I think.
The weather today was back to summer (mid-80’s) here in the Boston area. Look who visited my garden-
I don’t see many monarch butterflies anymore so this made me very happy.
I did a computer operating system update (upgrade?) and now everything is just a bit different. Mostly, no problem, but my Photos program and editing is looking new, everything hiding under tabs that weren’t there before and I’m in the midst of the dreaded learning curve. Urg. I just keep repeating to myself- good for brain elasticity.

I found this sweet silver-plate sugar bowl (?) at the thrift store. I love the little feet!

The Tiny World class was tons of fun. So much fun that I forgot to take any photos! But, after the class, I have lots of bits and pieces, partially started elements, and it is fun to get them all finished up. And of course, once I’ve started, I have to make a whole little village. Here are the first 2-

Another cotton lumberjack, this time a blond big man.
He has a wooden button on his belt.
Wow, it has been a long while since I finished a doll. I have lots in motion but my goal for today was to get one finished up. And, success!
This lumberjack is made of all cotton fabrics. I know, not exactly crazy times, but the others have been made of wool or a combo of cotton and wool. Using the cotton and wool fabrics together for the tattooed lumberjacks often led to problems with very uneven fabric stretchiness, which could mean men with very odd proportions. The lumberjacks I’ve sewed up so far are looking just fine!
I hope all you friends out there are safe from all the crazy weather. Here in the Boston area we had exploding houses which still is unexplained. Very, very strange. Also, if you are looking to enjoy a crafty self-care day, check out the classes I posted- Tiny Worlds, Owls. It will be a day of handmade fun.
I’m doing all those other things in my life since returning from SF. Laundry, rearranging random piles, studio cleaning, correspondence, reading books, listening to podcasts, gardening a tiny bit between too much rain… but mostly I’ve been on the computer, listing dolls into my shop on Etsy. What a job! I am getting close to finishing: I still have the kitties and foxes but everything else is done. I am taking a doll making (finishing?) break until the end of August- now, let me see if I can stick to that!

We did other things in California too. We went to Santa Cruz and stayed a few days with my SIL. We went to the Monterey Aquarium which is incredibly beautiful but very crowded which can make me jumpy.
An exhibit about tentacled beasts- very cool!
We ate deep-fried artichoke hearts from a food truck in Castroville, the “Artichoke Center of the World”! (Their PR not mine!) We watched surfers falling down. We enjoyed cool dry air. We saw some REALLY BIG trees. There is no way I know how to capture the size in a photo.
So many things on my to-do list that are calling my name. One thing is that I have to send my computer to the shop soon and it’ll be away for a week or so. That might effect who knows what but fair warning. Hope everyone is having a good summer!
